Weather in Nashville: Going to CMA Fest? Bring a rain jacket
Nashville weather forecast for June 2 and beyond Nashville Tennessean
NASHVILLE — Those planning to attend CMA Fest 2019 should plan for rain, forecasters with the National Weather Service in Nashville are predicting.
The four-day festival, which features more than 300 country acts ranging from up-and-comers to legendary singers and superstars, is slated Thursday through Sunday and attracts tens of thousands of people to Music City.
Umbrellas and aerosol cans of sunscreen are not allowed at the festival, but lotion sunscreen, rain coats and ponchos are.
A high of 89 degrees is anticipated Sunday, said John Cohen, a meteorologist with the NWS in Nashville.
Forecasters said there is a 40 percent chance of showers and storms during the afternoon hours.
"We’re looking for potential developments starting around midday, mostly east and south of Nashville," Cohen said. "A few of the storms could be strong will some small hail and elevated wind gusts."
The Sunday evening temperature is expected to drop to near 60 degrees.
"We’re going to have a couple of nice days, then starting on Wednesday the showers and storms return, and as we get towards the weekend the probability for rain becomes likely."
